Monto Cattle & Country yarded 718 head at their fortnightly Fat & Store Sale held on Wednesday 31st January. Hot and dry conditions saw the market slide again with processors and feedlots adjusting rates with increase supply.
Heavy bulls sold from 227 to 290 c/kg topping at $2568. Bill Dow, Selene sold Santa cross bullocks 765kg for 250c/kg or $1710. BE & SP Myles sold Braford bullocks 685kg to 250c/kg or $1707. Harry & Lillian Ball sold Brahman cross cows to 194c/kg or $882. John Cahalane’s Charbray cows returned $1050 or 195c/kg.
Goolah Grazing penned Santa cross No.7 steers 363kg to realise 278c/kg or $1010. P Williams’ Santa steers 392kg sold to 275c/kg or $1080. M Smith sold quality Brangus Murray Grey cross No.7 steers to $1217 or 276c/kg. R & S Ramage penned quality Red Brangus steers 295kg to return $895 or 303c/kg. SP & HO Mossman’s Brahman cross No.7 steers 256kg sold to 317c/kg or $813.
Ashenhurst Partnership sold Brahman cross No.7 steers 285kg to 319c/kg or $910. Charbray weaner steers from Copper Collingwood sold to 322c/kg or $895.
Grey Brahman cows and calves sold to $1300. K & T Gilvear sold Santa cross trade heifers 442c/kg for 237c/kg or $1050. J White sold Brahman cross weaners 282kg for 245c/kg or $693. Fairfield Agriculture sold light Brahman heifers from 226-234c/kg or $525.
